Last 5: latest result first. W = win, D = draw, L = loss. League phase only.

1–8 · Round of 16

The top eight go straight into the last 16.

9–24 · Knockout play-offs

Sixteen clubs contest two-legged ties for eight places.

25–36 · Eliminated

These clubs leave the competition; there is no transfer to the Conference League from this stage.

How to read the Europa League table

The league phase uses one table for 36 clubs. Each plays eight matches, with three points for a win, one for a draw and none for a loss. The table covers this stage only; qualifying and knockout results do not add league points.

P · Played
League-phase matches played.
W / D / L
Wins, draws and losses.
GF / GA
Goals scored and conceded.
GD · Goal difference
Goals scored minus goals conceded.
Pts · Points
Three per win, plus one per draw.
Last 5 · Recent form
Latest result first; league-phase matches only.

Use the sorting menu to compare points, goal difference or goals scored. These views change the display order; they do not award a different official position. Before the league phase starts, the dash in the position column means there is no sporting ranking to show yet.

How are teams level on points separated?

Goal difference is the first separator, followed by goals scored. A head-to-head result is not the first deciding factor in this league format. After all league-phase matches, UEFA applies these criteria in sequence:

  1. Better goal difference.
  2. More goals scored.
  3. More away goals.
  4. More wins.
  5. More away wins.
  6. More points collected by the club's opponents.
  7. Better combined goal difference of those opponents.
  8. More combined goals scored by those opponents.
  9. Fewer disciplinary points.
  10. Higher club coefficient.

While the league phase is still in progress, equally placed teams can remain tied under the interim criteria. The table follows the ranking supplied with the standings; sorting by a single statistic does not reproduce every tie-break.

Europa League standings: qualification questions

When do the coloured qualification places become final?

The qualification bands show what each position earns when the league phase finishes. A club sitting inside one of them before its campaign ends has not necessarily secured that place. The top eight enter the round of 16 directly; the next sixteen contest the knockout play-offs. Follow the confirmed draw in the knockout bracket.

Do the bottom clubs drop into the Conference League?

No. Clubs finishing 25th–36th leave European competition at this stage. Transfers between competitions during summer qualifying are a separate process, not a route available to clubs eliminated from the league phase.

Why can the table lag behind a result?

The table displays the latest available standings, not live in-match positions. Results and standings may arrive at different times. Check recent results and your club's remaining fixtures for context, and use UEFA's table ↗ to confirm the official order.

Scores and lineups are not live. Kick-off times and viewing arrangements can change. Check your match before making plans.
