Four rounds to reach the league phase

Ferencváros beat Vojvodina 5–1 on aggregate, Twente 4–3, Górnik Zabrze 2–1 and Trabzonspor 5–0. The route included eight qualifying matches, with the Trabzonspor play-off completed by a 4–0 home win on 27 August.

The Twente and Górnik ties were both decided by a single aggregate goal, unlike the wider margins in the first round and play-off. Those distinctions are lost if the summer route is reduced to one season win total.

Eight summer qualifiers, then Milan, Celtic and Juventus

Ferencváros played eight matches across four qualifying rounds before the league phase. Milan and Celtic are now away opponents, while Juventus come to Budapest: these are new single-match pairings after a summer of two-legged ties.

Viktoria Plzeň, Celje and Torreense complete the home programme. Lech Poznań and Hoffenheim join Milan and Celtic on the away list. Following the full season therefore means keeping the completed July–August route alongside an eight-opponent autumn and winter schedule.
