Kabongo kept Plzeň alive; Krčík completed the comeback
Kabongo's penalty in the fifth minute of stoppage time made the return 4–1 and finally cancelled out Red Star's 3–0 first-leg lead. The aggregate score was 4–4 at the end of normal time.
Krčík scored in the 96th minute to put Plzeň ahead overall. The 5–1 extra-time win completed a 5–4 aggregate recovery and opened the way to the league-phase programme beginning with Union at home.
